What is a Flow Writer?
Have you ever heard the maxim that it’s quality, not quantity that matters?
This may not be true for everything, but it certainly applies to writers and writing.
But what if we could have the best of both worlds?
What if we could write well and often?
What if tapping into the highly productive flow state actually produces our best work?
And what if creating both quality and quality is a fast track to success?
Welcome to the world of Flow Writers.
Hi, I’m Danielle.
Writer, designer, Creativity Coach & founder of Flow Writers
The Flow Writers Philosophy
Part 1: Quality
I believe that we do our best creative work when we enter the flow state.
When we feel highly engaged, lit up, and supremely focused on our writing, when we lose track of time and the words just pour out of us – this is the Holy Grail for writers.
The end result may need some polishing and editing (and even that can be done in a flow state), but the core essence of the work is not only done, it’s done well.
There’s a calibre to the writing we produce in the flow state that cannot be forced in other states, mindsets or energies.
This is Flow Writing, and I believe it’s our best writing.
Part 2: Quantity
So that’s the Quality Control box checked – what about the quantity?
It’s likely that everyone has experienced the flow state at some point, even if the last memory of it was from childhood.
Although the flow state is not unique to writers, the practice of creative writing is one realm that’s renowned for occasions of flow.
If you’re a writer, it’s likely that you’ve experienced the magic of Flow Writing.
While there are many benefits to this experience (more on that coming up), there’s one noticeable factor that can help us with our productivity goals.
Speed.
Have you ever noticed how fast you write when you’re in the flow state?!
The words just pour out!
They often arrive in our minds faster than our fingers can write or type.
Flow Writing is fast, it creates a lot of words in a short amount of time – and not just a large volume of words, these inspired, flow-state downloads could be the best you’ll ever write.
This is why the Flow Writers philosophy is all about the best of both worlds.
Quality and quantity.
Writing lots and writing well.
Producing our best work, in spades.
