Welcome back to Part 2 of our story.

(If you missed Part 1, you can read that here: What’s holding you back?)

As promised, I’ll be revealing the clues I found in The Case of the Missing Gusto.

But first, I thought it might be useful to take a quick look at this mysterious Gusto Factor and why it’s so important anyway…

What’s holding you back?

Part 2: The Mysterious G Factor

A quick search online throws up numerous impassioned quotes on the importance of going for it with gusto.

“Be passionate and move forward with gusto
every single hour of every single day
until you reach your goal.”

~ Ava DuVernay

• • •

“Let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you.
Live today with gusto.”

~ Dale Carnegie

• • •

“We cannot write well or truly
but what we write with gusto.”

~ Henry David Thoreau

• • •

“Set out to do three or four things this year
with gusto and excellence,
rather than doing a dozen things just sufficiently.
Trust me on this.”

~Danielle LaPorte

• • •

“If you’re going to do something, do it with gusto.
Don’t do anything half-heartedly.
That dishonors the doing and the doer.
So go for it. Hold nothing back.
In life. Or love. Or anything at all!”

~ Neale Donald Walsch

• • •

“No matter how carefully you plan your goals
they will never be more than pipe dreams
unless you pursue them with gusto.”

~ W. Clement Stone

• • •

“You’ve gotta go for it, and go for it with gusto.”

~ Elizabeth Mitchell

According to these great minds, that elusive G Factor is the answer to everything!

After my realisation at the side of the sports field, I spent many years exploring this phenomenon, and I discovered that while going for it with gusto may be the secret to success and happiness, before we can do that, there needs to be key elements in place.

3 essential ingredients for The Gusto Factor

1. We need to know what ‘it’ is.
We can’t throw ourselves passionately into our purpose if we don’t know what that is.

2. We need to believe it’s possible – for us.
We’re unlikely to pursue anything with commitment and devotion if we don’t truly believe it’s possible for us.

3. We need to remove the invisible brakes.

If the idea of invisible brakes is new to you, this next instalment of our gripping tale will reveal all…

Once I became aware of the seeming power and magic of the mysterious G Factor, I became obsessed with discovering it for myself, or at least, identifying what was preventing me from enjoying it.

Then one day, during a theta healing session, the practitioner asked me why I wasn’t going for what I claimed to want with all my heart, why was I holding myself back?

I didn’t know the specific reasons, but I did know – acutely – the feeling around it:

Invisible brakes.

I explained that I felt as if I was trying to drive a car with the brakes still on.

I had tried everything to make more progress with what I knew was my life purpose and calling, yet it felt like there was something in the way, some unknown and unseen force that was preventing me, holding me back from doing the things I knew would bring my vision and dream to life.

Maybe you can relate?

Maybe you too have felt that you would go wholeheartedly for your purpose or your goals, and yet… some mysterious force stops you or prevents you from going for your lovely dream.

Maybe you’ve wondered why you don’t do the things you know you should do, or you inexplicably resist the things you say you want to do.

If so, then you probably know what I mean by invisible brakes.

And you’ll also want to read on to Part 3 of our adventure.

Because I’ll be unveiling the identity of these pesky gusto-blockers that hold us back from truly going for our heart’s desire and enjoying all the delightful benefits that come from that forward motion…
