A mind set for success

During the lovely Twixmas period, as I was merrily immersed in my beloved Review & Renew process, I had an idea for a new tip that might be helpful for your End of Year or New Year rituals, especially if you have something exciting you want to bring to life in 2024.

It’s just three little words – that seem so simple and yet can make a powerful difference in what you decide is possible for you in the New Year.

And the 3-word motto that I recommend for any planning, goal-setting or visioneering work you love to dive into at this time of year is this:

Assume you can.

Assuming Success

If you’re up to exciting things in the world, there will be many unknowns and unanswered questions as you envision your new year or new goals.

(If you’d like to make more peace with those TBC elements, this should help: How to make peace with uncertainty )

But simply reminding yourself to assume you can is a potent mindset trick that helps you put all those queries and quandaries and How Can I…? questions on the back burner for a while, so you can focus on setting the right destination.

At first glance, you may think that assuming success might not make all that much difference, but there are at least two powerful processes at play behind this simple tip…

1. The Creative Power of Positive Expectation

How do you feel about your New Year Vision?

Do you assume you can create it? Or are you secretly assuming it can’t be done?

The thought processes running below the surface will impact just how much and how often you pursue your vision and goals, and how you feel about the process of bringing them to life.

All of these subtle energies and tiny decisions can massively affect the results you enjoy.

Positive expectation is a potent creative force – it can shape both your journey and your achievements.

Assuming you can is a sound foundation for success mindset boosts that will drastically improve the odds in your favour.

2. The Law of Assumption

There’s a law of mind – the Law of Assumption – that states that simply persisting in an assumption – whether it’s true or not – will eventually create the assumed idea.

So, there is creative power in our assumptions!

This is the theory behind the well-known phrase; a self-fulfilling prophecy.

In fact, one of my favourite success coaches claims its more powerful and beneficial than the famous Law of Attraction.

So, why not give some attention to our assumptions, and cultivate the ones that will support our visions and Big Dreams?

It can also serve double duty as a counter to any potential doubts and unhelpful confusion.

Simply reminding yourself to assume you can is a potent mindset trick that helps you put all those queries and quandaries and How Can I…? questions on the back burner for a while, so you can focus on setting the right destination.

If you’d like more on the metaphysical aspects of the creative process, you might like my new project all about The Creative Art of Manifesting.

And to inspire you to play more confidently with the Law of Assumption, here are some snippets of wisdom from one of the most impassioned teachers on this topic, Neville Goddard…

To reach a higher level of being, you must assume a higher concept of yourself.

~ NEVILLE GODDARD

Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled until our assumption has all the sensory vividness of reality.

~ NEVILLE GODDARD

Simply dare to assume you are what you want to be, and you will compel everyone to play their part.

~ NEVILLE GODDARD

An assumption, though false, if persisted, will harden into fact.

~ NEVILLE GODDARD

If you will assume your desire and live there as though it were true, no power on earth can stop it from becoming a fact.

~ NEVILLE GODDARD

(Are you getting a sense of how powerful it can be to rethink your assumptions?!)

A self-fulfilling prophecy of success

If any old stories have been trying to intervene with your dreaming and visioneering, I invite you to give this little mindset shift some thought.

Assert your new powerful assumption that you can and will find a way.

Somehow.

Assume you can, simply because when you do, you’ll be much more likely to become a self-fulfilling prophecy of success.

And that way, a very happy new year lies…

PS This theme of empowered envisioning is the foundation of my End of Year / New Year virtual retreat Review & Renew.

I’ve recently been enjoying some lovely feedback from my participants – I knew these techniques were effective but I’m seeing results even better than I expected!

Celebrations, clarity, confidence, new insights, even happy tears.

I’ve been also enjoying the process myself, as I do every year, and as I look back at last year’s notes and intentions, it’s so fun to see how far I’ve come. 🙂

(And also, so easy to miss, without taking this time to take stock.)

I’m feeling humbled and grateful that so many of the things that are normal for me at the end of 2022 were mere hopes and wishes just a year ago. #blessed

So, if you’d like these or even better results from your own End-of-Year Check-In or New Year Vision session – so that you can begin 2024 with a clear, excited and empowered new energy – there are more details here.

Don’t underestimate the power of learning from the past.

There’s a lot of unleveraged wisdom to be mined from the past twelve months, if you know how to find it.
